Finance & Administration

The office of Finance and Administration is responsible for resource planning and management, human resources and space planning for the Division of Academic Affairs.

Mission

Our mission is to work with the entire Academic Affairs organization and within the University landscape to steward valuable resources toward accomplishing UB's strategic goals. This unit places an emphasis on the importance of strategic thinking and planning by managing the opportunities to connect unit-based conversations that correlate to plans for the university’s future. We support and facilitate strong financial processes and planning to help develop a structure that allows for forward thinking and support of operational and strategic initiatives. We support our customer's experiences, our business processes, and employee learning and growth.

Our services include:

  • Managing annual resource planning process and budget deployment to units
  • Coordinating and evaluating the business case for anticipated financial resource requests outside of the annual planning process
  • Managing human resource related activities across the division, including recruitment, compensation, employee relations
  • Provide guidance on organizational restructuring to meet evolving business needs of campus
  • Provide leadership to space planning and oversee all capital projects and renovations
  • Supporting Academic Affairs staff with planning, budget, HR or other administrative protocols and guidance
