Student Success & Retention

The Office of Student Success and Retention is committed to providing a transformative educational experience that promotes the academic and personal success and engagement of all undergraduate students.

By providing oversight of the centralized academic advising unit (Student Advising Services), Finish in 4 and retention, our goal is to support students in identifying educational experiences and opportunities to achieve their academic and personal aspirations.

Our overall goal is to provide a collaborative leadership method in developing a highly structured retention strategy on campus that engages faculty, senior leadership and staff whose work is student-centered.

The major premise is to develop and implement comprehensive retention services for the promotion of student success toward graduation.

Finish in 4 (FIF) is the university’s commitment to providing the resources needed for entering freshman students to graduate in four years. Finish in 4 is a campus-wide effort to meet our students’ graduation goals by helping them understand their responsibilities in earning their degree in a timely manner.

Student Advising Services (SAS) is the home of the Major Explorers Program designed to help undecided first and second year students make an informed decision about their major.

SAS advisors also assist students in transition (changing majors), pre-professional students, including prehealth (students interested in pursuing a degree in medicine, dentistry, optometry, podiatry, chiropractic or physician assistant studies) and pre-law.
